Ken Paxton’s campaign has kept Tracy Duhon off the trail, out of ads and away from political reporters, according to a Tuesday report that put his private relationship back into the center of his Senate run. The move comes as the campaign tries to control what voters see of a woman who has traveled with him, appeared with him in limited video and been tied to a growing paper trail around the race.

Duhon is not a political operative or a spouse in the legal sense. She is a New Orleans author who has built a public identity around Christian faith and redemption, and she is registered to vote as a Democrat in Louisiana. That makes her appearance beside a Republican running for the U.S. Senate in Texas an awkward fit for a campaign already sensitive about the personal details surrounding Paxton.

The record around their relationship is broader than the campaign would like. Duhon came into Paxton’s life shortly before he launched his Senate bid. Since then, the two have traveled abroad and spent holidays together. A video showed them boarding a plane to Iceland and walking hand in hand in London. Another video surfaced this month showing them celebrating New Year’s Eve 2024 in Dubai alongside two U.S. fugitives.

The story around the pair also reaches into Texas real estate and law-enforcement records. A trust with unnamed beneficiaries bought a five-bedroom house in a gated Frisco community in February, and Paxton recently used that home as his mailing address. Police records show Duhon was contacted several times this year after false burglary alarms went off at the house, adding another layer of visibility to a relationship the campaign has tried to keep out of public view.

That gap between private conduct and public presentation is the sharpest part of the reporting. Duhon was shown with Paxton at the Kentucky Derby in May 2024, then filed for divorce two months later after 35 years of marriage. Her 2025 book accuses Troy Duhon of infidelity but never mentions Paxton, even as the campaign now treats her as someone to keep off camera. Meanwhile, Angela Paxton filed for divorce in July 2025 on biblical grounds, saying she and Ken Paxton had not lived together as spouses since June 2024.

Paxton’s campaign did not answer the questions posed about Duhon. Instead, it attacked the dating history of James Talarico, while Madison Cercy called the story “a disgusting, invasive story that has nothing to do with the issues Texans care about.” The exchange shows how quickly the campaign has shifted from silence to counterattack as scrutiny builds around the people in Paxton’s orbit.

What remains unresolved is not whether Duhon has been around Paxton. The evidence says she has. The unanswered question is who benefits from the Frisco trust and how much more of the relationship will surface as Paxton’s Senate campaign continues under a brighter and less forgiving light.
