Jessa Duggar says she and Ben Seewald are expecting their seventh child, and she made the announcement while she was still only six weeks pregnant. She said she sent him the news by text, turning a private moment into a family update that was still settling in.

The timing matters because Duggar shared it on the Wednesday, October 28 episode of the Unplanned Podcast, putting the pregnancy in public view the same day she described how it unfolded at home. She said she felt a little queasy in her first trimester, but not enough to make the pregnancy sound unusual; the bigger change was simply that baby No. 7 was already on the way.

She said the couple takes each pregnancy one at a time, and this one had been planned after the unexpected arrival of baby No. 6. That detail fills in the gap between surprise and choice: after a sixth pregnancy that came as a surprise, the seventh was something they had decided on rather than something that caught them off guard.

Ben learned about it in the middle of an ordinary outing. Duggar said she texted him a photo of the pregnancy test while he was golfing with her brother Jed, and Seewald said he later looked at his phone on the golf cart before telling her he had seen the message. He then told her dad and brothers before brunch, a sequence that says as much about the family setting as the announcement itself.

That is also where the story gets its edge. Seewald said he had anxious thoughts about finances and about spending enough time with each child when he learned Duggar was pregnant with Eddie, and that kind of reaction is not part of the polished version of a pregnancy announcement. It shows the calculation behind a family growing larger while the youngest child is still just 15 months old.

Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald already have six children: sons Spurgeon, Henry, George and Eddie, and daughters Ivy and Fern. Duggar also said Seewald takes the kids on dates pretty much every week, taking one or two out for breakfast and spending time with the boys over board games and Legos while taking the girls for nail appointments. The picture she drew was not of a couple rushing through the news, but of a home that already runs on routine and rotation.

For now, the update is straightforward: baby No. 7 is on the way, and the couple has told the people closest to them. What remains unanswered is how they will describe the months ahead once the first surprise of the news fades and the realities of another child settle in.
