Pokémon Unite will end service on March 23, 2027, bringing the game’s run on mobile and Nintendo Switch to a close after more than five years. The announcement, posted on the game’s official website, also means players can no longer buy Aeos gems.

The timing matters because it gives players a fixed date to work around, not a vague window. Pokémon Unite first launched in July 2021, and the shutdown ends a long stretch in which the same game reached players across two platforms under one service plan.

Before the shutdown arrives, a special event will start on November 12 and let players earn special Unite Coins. Those coins can be swapped for in-game items and cosmetics, giving players one last way to build out their accounts before the service goes dark.

There is still a catch in the handover from live service to shutdown. Online matches will become unplayable after March 23, 2027, but players will still be able to open a new library feature that shows their play stats, Pokémon, achievements, and the cosmetics they earned and used over the years. Practice mode will also remain available, which means the game will not disappear entirely even as the core competitive experience ends.

What is missing is the reason. The shutdown notice sets the date and maps out the last usable features, but it does not explain why the service is ending now. For players, the practical answer is simpler: spend what can still be spent, use what remains while it lasts, and expect the live game to stop running on both Mobile and Nintendo Switch in just over a year.
