Khachaturyan congratulated Khan on assuming the mission and wished him success, while Khan thanked him for the reception and good wishes. He also said he will work to strengthen relations between Pakistan and Armenia, a promise that gives the appointment weight beyond protocol.
That matters because the step is not just ceremonial. For Pakistan and Armenia, the appointment creates the first standing diplomatic post of its kind, and that alone marks a change in how the two sides can handle contact. It also explains why the meeting is drawing attention now: the relationship has moved from absence to representation.
Yet the practical side of that opening is still thin. The two sides discussed opportunities to expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest and explored new directions for cooperation, but they did not spell out which areas would come first. That leaves the announcement with clear symbolism and limited detail, a common pattern in first-contact diplomacy that often raises more questions than it answers.
For now, the most concrete outcome is the credential presentation itself. Khan is in place, the channel exists, and both sides have signaled that they want to build on it. What remains unresolved is the part that will decide whether this becomes a meaningful relationship or only the start of one: where Pakistan and Armenia actually choose to begin.
