Sony said in May that the next batch of PlayStation games for PS Plus Extra and Premium will arrive on May 19, led by Star Wars Outlaws, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Time Crisis. The update gives subscribers a fresh set of titles to play just as seven others are set to leave the service the same day.
Alongside Star Wars Outlaws and Red Dead Redemption 2, the Extra tier will add Broken Sword Shadows of the Templars Reforged, The Thaumaturge, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, Enotria: The Last Song Standard Edition and Bramble: The Mountain King. Time Crisis is the only new game heading to PS Plus Premium.
The outgoing list is just as important for anyone working through a backlog. Control Ultimate Edition, Mortal Shell, Sand Land, MotoGP 25, Soul Hackers 2, Little Hope and Man of Medan are all leaving PS Plus Extra on May 19, which means subscribers have a narrow window left to finish them before they disappear.
That revolving door is how PlayStation Plus usually works: new games arrive while older ones are phased out on the same day. For players, it creates a simple trade-off. There is something new to start, but there is also a deadline on what is already there.
Control Ultimate Edition may be the most notable loss in the group. The game is a highly rated third-person shooter from Remedy set inside the Federal Bureau of Control building in New York City, and its Ultimate Edition includes all post-release DLC, including a campaign that connects back to Alan Wake.
For Sony, the May lineup keeps the subscription fresh with a mix of blockbuster recognition and niche appeal. For players, the immediate question is less about what has been added than what can still be finished before May 19 closes the door on seven more games.
