Will Estes is back in the Blue Bloods universe this Friday, Nov. 6, when he returns as Jamie Reagan in the next episode of Boston Blue. The fifth episode of season 2, titled “Blood Diamonds,” brings Jamie into a case that quickly turns personal as he and Danny are pulled into a diamond heist tied to a violent family feud.
The timing matters because Boston Blue has been leaning on the familiar pull of the Reagan family while building its own story after starting in October 2025. Estes is not a newcomer to that world. He spent 2010 to 2024 opposite Donnie Wahlberg on Blue Bloods, which ran for 14 seasons, and Wahlberg has said he missed working with him and wanted him on the show.
In the new episode, that reunion does not come with an easy homecoming. Danny and Jamie try to squash a brotherly beef while following a lead, but the conversation turns sharp fast. Danny asks whether the disagreement is going to become a problem or stay professional. Jamie answers that he has never not been professional, then pushes back again when Danny keeps pressing him. By the end of the exchange, both men are arguing less like partners and more like brothers who know exactly how to needle each other.

Boston Blue has already made room for other returning faces from the old series, including Len Cariou and Bridget Moynahan, but Jamie’s appearance pushes the connection further by putting two of the most closely linked characters from Blue Bloods back on the same case. The episode also carries separate story lines for Mae, Lena, Sarah and Seth, but the Jamie-Danny reunion is the part that will matter most to viewers who followed the franchise for years.
