Sophia Bush is pushing back on the cheating rumors around her relationship with Ashlyn Harris, saying the romance did not overlap with either of their marriages. In a October 21, 2026 episode of Call Her Daddy, Bush said both women had already filed for divorce and were living separately before their first date.

The 44-year-old said the backlash has followed her and Harris since their relationship became public in October 2023, when reports linking them romantically surfaced shortly after their separations became public. Bush said plainly, "Two people who had filed for divorce and lived in separate residences from their exes went to dinner," and when asked whether there had been any overlap, she answered, "I can say that."

That conversation lands just days before the release of her memoir, And I Will Tell You Mine: Notes from a Life in Progress, on October 27. Bush said she wishes she had done one thing differently when the relationship began: she was traveling through New York with tickets to a comedy show and decided to ask Harris out, then suggested that waiting six weeks for that first date might have made the whole thing easier to manage.

But Bush also made clear she does not expect to persuade anyone who has already settled on the cheating story. "Everybody wishes they could've done a million things differently at the time," she said, while adding, "I'm never going to change anybody's mind who made it up." The friction is simple and hard to shake: the relationship was still being judged in public because it emerged while both women were ending marriages, including Bush's to Grant Hughes and Harris's to Ali Krieger.

For now, Bush is leaving the record in the only place she can control — her own words. The memoir arrives next week, and the six-week question hangs over the same story: not whether the relationship existed, but whether a short delay would have kept it from becoming a public scandal in the first place.
