Leaked gameplay footage of EA Motive's Marvel Iron Man game surfaced this week, giving the clearest look yet at a project that has been mostly quiet since Electronic Arts and Marvel announced it in September 2022. The clips show Tony Stark in action, along with suit customization, aerial combat and a version of Chicago that appears to anchor the game’s world.
The footage matters because it is the first substantial look at the game in nearly four years, and it gives fans something concrete to read after a long stretch of silence. The build shown appears very early, but it is detailed enough to reveal Pepper Potts, Obadiah Stane, Henry Pym, Madame Masque, Iron Monger, Ultron and a character that looks like Yellowjacket, all moving through a story that seems to send Stark beyond Chicago to Japan and a SHIELD Helicarrier.
The most revealing moment comes when Stark customizes a suit of armor with homing missiles. The system appears to borrow ideas from Resident Evil's inventory management and Dead Space's node-based suit upgrades, which suggests a game built around tinkering as much as flying and firing. That same footage also points to combat design shaped by EA Motive's work on Dead Space and Star Wars Squadrons, with weapons-based encounters and high-flying dogfighting at the center.
That promise comes with a catch. The build looks unfinished, the kind of material that can make a game seem farther along than it is, and EA did not give a release window when the project was announced. Even now, Electronic Arts and EA Motive have not announced a date, which is why a 2027 release seems likely rather than certain.
