Young Thug has set Slime Language 3 for release at midnight on August 28, 2026, putting YSL Records’ next compilation on the clock just hours after the announcement. The project is the long-awaited follow-up to Slime Language 2 and arrives with no publicly revealed tracklist yet.
That timing is why the album is drawing so much attention now. Slime Language 3 is expected to spotlight newer YSL names, including 1300SAINT, Tezzus, diamond* and iyrus, while continuing a series that has served as a roster check-in for Young Stoner Life. The first two installments gave the label commercial momentum, with the original Slime Language debuting at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 in 2018 and Slime Language 2 reaching No. 1 in 2021 with 113,000 equivalent album units in its first week.
The buildup has been running for months. 1300SAINT mentioned the project on May 16 during PlaqueBoyMax’s stream, then teased it on X/Twitter two days later. In June, Young Thug said in a backstage interview that it would sound like Barter 6 and “like that 2016 music,” and on August 19, he and Mike Dean said recording was finished and the project had moved into mixing and mastering. Five days later, 1300SAINT said the compilation would contain more than 30 tracks, a detail that still leaves the exact total unclear because the full tracklist has not been made public.
YSL Records released an official trailer on August 26, and a later social media update confirmed the August 28 date. That makes the late-night rollout a sharp one: the label is asking listeners to wait only a few hours for a project it has described as a large compilation, but not yet fully explained. For Young Thug, who returned with UY Scuti in September 2025 after being released from jail in October 2024 following the YSL RICO case, Slime Language 3 now looks less like a tease than a reset for the newer generation around him.
The next real answer comes at midnight, when the album is due to land and the missing pieces — the songs, the full lineup and whether the sound really leans back toward Barter 6-era energy — finally become clear.
