The official Lord Of The Mysteries Game has moved from anticipation to overload in China. Before its August 21 open beta, the cross-platform action RPG reached No. 1 on the China App Store’s Popular Downloads chart, Bilibili’s Game Popularity ranking and TapTap’s popularity list.

That level of demand is unusual even for a licensed game with a built-in audience. Developed by SPARK NEXA in Unreal Engine 5, the title is an officially licensed adaptation of the web novel Lord of Mysteries by Cuttlefish That Loves Diving, and it is set to launch in China on PC, Android and iOS.

The numbers behind the ranking surge help explain why players searched for it now. TapTap pre-registration passed 2.1 million before August 21, a figure that shows the game already had a large following before the first open beta day arrived. The combination of chart leadership and pre-registration volume put it among the most closely watched Chinese releases of the season.

Demand tightened further when character creation and pre-downloads opened. The initial servers filled quickly, and the developer added two more servers named Abyss and Death to absorb the rush. That addition suggests the first wave of access was not enough to cover the number of players trying to get in at once, even before the open beta officially begins.

The pull is strong inside China, but the wider picture is still unfinished. The game has not announced a global release, leaving the current surge concentrated on one market while interest builds around a launch that starts August 21 and may set the tone for what comes after.
