Zachary Mardi Gras is coming back for a second annual parade on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2027, with organizers saying the event will build on its 2026 debut and keep its focus on music, culture and community.

That return gives people in Zachary a date to circle now, and it comes with a familiar goal: turn a successful first celebration into something that lasts. Jamar Hebert said the vision from the start was to create something special that would bring the community together and establish a tradition families could enjoy for generations.

The parade will be presented by Our Beloved Community United with the City of Zachary and the Zachary Police Department. Its 2027 theme is Let the Good Times Roll: One City. Many Sounds. One Rhythm. Organizers say community organizations, businesses, schools, marching bands, vendors, volunteers and corporate sponsors can all take part, widening the invite beyond the inaugural celebration.

Hebert said the support and excitement during the first celebration exceeded expectations, and that the next parade is meant to build on that momentum. What the announcement does not spell out is whether the 2027 parade will be larger, longer or different in any measurable way, even as it promises more chances for community involvement and local business participation.

For now, the next clear milestone is simple: Zachary Mardi Gras returns on Feb. 7, 2027, and the question for the city is no longer whether it is coming back, but how far the tradition can grow from here.
