Mark Tilbury Gta 6 Financial Advice: How a $99.99 Game Became a $5,000 Claim

Mark Tilbury has turned GTA 6 into an unlikely money-saving pitch, saying the game’s $99.99 Ultimate Edition could save players $5,000 by comparison with a night out. In a tongue-in-cheek video that reads like budgeting advice but is not meant as real financial guidance, the British entrepreneur framed the game as a long-lasting buy rather than a one-off splurge.

Tilbury said the math starts with the price tag. If GTA 6 costs $99.99 and takes 80 hours to finish, that works out to $1.25 per hour of fun, he said. Add side missions and map exploration, and he put the cost at 50 cents an hour. From there, he argued that four hours every evening would equal 50 nights of entertainment, while going out could easily cost $100 in a single night.

That is where the $5,000 claim comes from: not from a cash rebate, but from the idea that repeated nights out add up far faster than a single purchase. Tilbury, known for videos on frugal living, leaned into the contrast with his own habits, saying he reuses old cups, flies economy, wears the same rotation of clothes and avoids luxury hotels. In the same video, he summed up his stance with a joke that gaming is how he explains himself to other people.

The timing matters because GTA 6 has a November 19 release date, and publishers are reportedly hoping it sets a new precedent on game pricing. Tilbury’s calculation leaves out GTA Online, so the full value case is still incomplete, even if the joke lands. For now, the clip is less a serious buying guide than a neat example of how a pricey game can be sold as the cheaper option.

Tilbury even closed with the kind of line that shows how knowingly playful the pitch was, saying Rockstar paid a billion dollars for it, so it is a steal at the end of the day.
