Verizon has put real pricing on Apple’s new phones, but only one of them is ready to buy on a fixed timetable. The carrier said the iPhone 18 Pro will be available to preorder on Sept. 12 and ship on Sept. 18, while the iPhone Duo will not open for preorder until Oct. 16 and will not ship until Oct. 23.
That matters because Apple just unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and iPhone Duo in Cupertino on Tuesday, and shoppers are already trying to figure out whether switching carriers or trading in an older phone will cut the bill. For people who want the iPhone 18 Pro now, Verizon says the best-known offer is a Simplicity Pro package that brings the phone to $80 a month all-in for new smartphone lines, with a $30 unlimited plan and a $50 device payment.
Verizon also said customers on any myPlan can get up to $1,200 off a new phone when they trade in an old device, with the savings delivered as bill credits over 36 months. Existing Verizon customers can get up to $1,200 off a new line or up to $1,020 off an existing line if they have an eligible phone to trade in. Those numbers are what make the launch meaningful today: they set a concrete floor under the cost of the iPhone 18 Pro before the first preorder window even opens.
There is, however, a catch that keeps the story from sounding cleaner than it is. The iPhone Duo is Apple’s first foldable phone, but Verizon has not finalized its deal specifics yet, and the best-known pricing right now applies to the iPhone 18 Pro. A correction published on Sept. 10 also made clear that the carrier was not offering a free iPhone Duo deal, which matters because the device itself is the flashiest part of Apple’s launch and the one many buyers are likely to ask about first.
Verizon says members of its free Verizon Loyalty program will not pay activation or upgrade fees, which trims another layer of cost for customers who stay put. The iPhone 18 Pro also arrives with Apple’s largest battery to date, new camera upgrades and AI integrations, while the Duo folds to about the size of a passport and opens to a 7.6-inch screen. For now, though, the immediate answer for shoppers is simple: the iPhone 18 Pro has a price, a preorder date and a ship date. The Duo has a launch calendar, but its Verizon deal is still waiting for October.
