McDonald’s is bringing back the Pokémon Happy Meal at participating restaurants nationwide starting Nov. 10, pairing 15 collectible toys with 15 collectible trading cards in a limited-time run that will end when supplies do.
The timing is driving the interest. Joseph Green, the Global Shopping Editor for Mashable and Executive Editor of AskMen, is the kind of reader who tracks shopping drops that move fast, and this one gives collectors a date to circle and a tight window to act. Fans can open the Happy Meal box, scan the QR code, and jump into a digital game built around finding the 15 Pokémon Happy Meal toys hidden in a virtual classroom and playground.
This is also the first time since 2018 that customers are getting a genuine 3D collectible toy alongside playable cards in the same promotion. The mini-boxes are designed to resemble McDonald’s cartons shaped around fan-favorite Pokémon, while each meal includes two randomized cards drawn from a specialized 15-card McDonald’s reprint set.
That card set is part of what makes this return different from a simple nostalgia play. The 15-card McDonald’s reprint set includes seven foil cards, giving collectors a mix of standard pulls and shinier variants inside the same release. The promotion also arrives in waves beyond the USA: Australia, Canada, Fiji, France, New Zealand and Spain get the November 2026 release, followed by a larger December 2026 rollout across much of Europe, the Middle East and Asia, and then a January 2027 release across much of Latin America.
The catch is built into the headline. The promotion is being described as nationwide, but it still depends on participating McDonald’s restaurants, and that means the toy and card hunt will vary by location even on launch day. For collectors, the important part is not just that the Pokémon Happy Meal is back; it is that the window is short, the supply is limited, and the specific 15 toys are still the unanswered piece of the drop.
For now, the confirmed next step is simple: Nov. 10. After that, the real test is whether fans can get to a participating McDonald’s early enough to land the box before the bins are empty.
