The Mob arrived on Hulu and Disney+ on Monday with its first two episodes, putting 12 celebrities inside a lavish Italian villa and turning the game over to Parker Posey. The series, which Posey also executive produces, sends players after up to $250,000 in cash prizes.
That is why the title is showing up in search now: the show has just started, the first round is already live, and the rest will roll out weekly until the finale on Monday, November 16. For viewers deciding whether to jump in, the setup is simple enough to follow and messy enough to keep moving — contestants must survive mob-themed jobs, while one player, known as The Don, is chosen by the group and gets to decide who makes money and who gets whacked.
The structure leaves room for a split screen of power. The Don holds absolute authority, but the rest of the cast can still pledge loyalty to a new leader, creating a way to undermine the person who is supposed to be in charge. That pressure is part of the pitch behind The Mob, which comes from the same production company behind The Traitors and is being sold as a star-studded game of deception for reality TV fans.
Some of the cast names already attached underline the crossover strategy. Demi Engemann, from The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, is in the mix, along with Joe Gorga from The Real Housewives of New Jersey and Harry Jowsey from Let's Marry Harry, Perfect Match and Too Hot To Handle. The broader cast is 12 strong, but the full lineup has not been laid out in the same public detail here, which keeps the focus on the game rather than the roster.
Hulu and Disney+ are also using the launch to push their subscription bundles, with pricing listed at $11.99 a month, $18.99 a month, $12.99 a month and $32.99 a month. For now, though, the main draw is the show itself: Posey is pulling double duty, the prize money is real, and the first move in the game has already been made. What remains to watch is whether the loyalty play can actually crack The Don's control before the November 16 finale closes the season.
