That makes the crossover easy to search for now: players can jump into the update while the anime is still fresh, and the game gives them a direct bridge into its world.
The quest begins as a gig from Wakako and sends V to Night City Prison, where the path crosses Weak Kingsley. It is built as a prequel to the events of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, which means it is designed to be experienced before the anime’s story, even if the game also lets the anime work in reverse for anyone who has already watched it. That split gives the mission a different feel depending on when a player arrives, but the setup stays the same: the update is not just referencing the show, it is folding its timeline into the game.
