A US jury has awarded Stratasys about $27.6 million after finding that Bambu Lab infringed four 3D printing patents in a one-week trial in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Marshall Division. The award covers past damages, giving Stratasys a concrete win in its patent fight while leaving the case open to the next round of legal moves.
That is why the Bambu Lab 3D Printer Patent Verdict is drawing attention now. Stratasys said the jury found all four patents presented at trial valid and infringed by Shanghai Lunkuo Technology Co. Ltd., Tuozhu Technology Limited, Shenzhen Tuozhu Technology Co. Ltd. and Bambulab Ltd., the defendants named in the case. The patents covered purge towers, extrusion-based layer deposition and force-detection systems used in desktop material extrusion 3D printers.
Stratasys did not say how the roughly $27.6 million was split among the four patents or among the individual Bambu entities. It also did not say whether it will seek an injunction over sales of affected products. The company said it remained focused on delivering cutting-edge technologies to customers and protecting the intellectual property that underpins its innovation, a familiar line in a case that has become about more than one jury award.
The verdict is only part of a wider dispute. Stratasys filed two lawsuits against Bambu Lab in August 2024, alleging infringement of ten US patents, and this was the first of those cases to go to trial. One of the patents asserted in the original complaint, US Patent No. 9,592,660, was not presented to the jury, which means the fight over the broader portfolio is not finished even after this verdict.
Bambu Lab said it disagreed with the verdict and intended to seek post-trial review and appeal. It also pointed to related proceedings in Europe and before the US Patent Trial and Appeal Board, a reminder that this dispute is being fought on more than one front. In Europe, the Hague Local Division of the Unified Patent Court dismissed Stratasys’s application for preliminary measures against Bambu on April 24, 2026.
For now, Stratasys has the damages award and the jury finding on validity and infringement. What happens next will determine how much of that win becomes permanent relief, and whether the fight over these patents moves from a jury room to the appeals process.
