The fight carries more than a win-or-lose price tag: the winner is likely to move closer to a title shot against UFC lightweight champion Justin Gaethje, which gives every word Tsarukyan says about his public image a sharper edge today.
Tsarukyan has been on the UFC roster since 2019, but his profile has expanded far beyond the cage through repeated appearances in widely viewed social media content with Nina Drama. He said she helped him learn the ropes of being a social media influencer, and he described the effect in plain terms: people now approach him and call him a streamer or a blogger. He said even Russians recognize that version of him. In his telling, the change is not cosmetic. It is how he is being introduced to the audience that follows him.
He put the point even more directly in a recent conversation, thanking Daniele and saying she helped him. He also said he likes the flexibility of building a public life around more than one label, telling her, in substance, that he wants to be a streamer, a blogger, a fighter and a wrestler if time allows. That is the appeal of the persona he is building: it stretches beyond fight week and gives him a second lane of attention.
But the same broader profile that has raised his visibility has also created a familiar complaint around him. Some in the MMA community have criticized Tsarukyan for not fighting as often as a top-tier competitor should, and that criticism lingers even as his online presence grows. The contrast is hard to miss: he is praised as a rising star with real influence, yet his activity level has left some observers unconvinced that the spotlight should have shifted so quickly from competition to content.
Tsarukyan is not pretending he sees a problem. He said he is fine with being known in several roles and added that money matters in everything, a reminder that his public image is now part of the business as much as the fights themselves. After UFC 331, he is also scheduled to wrestle Dillon Danis for the inaugural RAF middleweight crossover belt at RAF 14 on October 23. For now, though, the unanswered part is not whether Nina Drama helped widen his audience. It is how much further that audience grows if he backs up the online fame with another fight that keeps him in the title picture.
