Kia is pushing the 2026 EV9 with a nationwide $10,000 customer cash offer this month, while some dealers are knocking more than $15,000 off the electric SUV. At Shottenkirk Kia of Fort Bend, Peter Johnson reported a $16,041 discount on the EV9 Light Short Range, bringing the model to nearly $40,500 from a starting price of $56,735.

That kind of pricing is notable because the 2026 EV9 starts at $54,900, yet the incentives now available can cut thousands more from that number. Kia is also offering 0% APR financing for 60 months and a $5,000 APR Bonus Cash discount, giving shoppers several ways to lower the cost of the three-row EV in the same month the company is trying to keep attention on its sales momentum.

The discounts stand out because they are not limited to one store. Liberty Auto Plaza in Illinois was offering $15,000 off the 2026 EV9 Light Short Range, listing it at as little as $42,858 with a $378 documentation fee, and also showing the 2026 Kia EV9 Light Long Range for $45,163 with a $15,000 discount. The Long Range offers up to 305 miles of driving range, while the Short Range is rated at 230 miles.

Kia sold nearly 10,500 EV9s in the US through the first eight months of 2026, up 12% from the same period last year. That is better than the direction of several other electric vehicles after the $7,500 EV tax credit expired last September, when sales of models such as the Ford Mustang Mach-E and Chevy Equinox EV weakened. Even so, Kia is leaning hard on price, which suggests the company sees the EV9 market as competitive enough to require both national incentives and dealer-level markdowns.

The broader picture is that the EV9 remains one of Kia's more successful electric models, but success has not made it immune to discounting. The EV3 starts at $29,890 and Kia also sold over 98,000 Tellurides in the same eight-month period, underscoring how much pressure the company faces to move inventory across its lineup. For buyers, the immediate question is not whether the EV9 is available, but how long the $10,000 customer cash offer and the bigger dealer cuts will stay in place before the market resets again.
