A LongHorn Steakhouse worker in metro Atlanta set off a fast-moving food-safety and workplace complaint this week after posting video from the Camp Creek Parkway kitchen showing roaches crawling on the floor and food waste strewn across the workspace. Sean Headley said he had seen enough by Wednesday to record and share what he found.
The footage spread quickly, drawing millions of views in less than 24 hours and turning a restaurant kitchen into a public test of whether the chain could respond as fast as the video moved. Headley, who said he started working there in April, said he posted the clips after what he described as inhumane working conditions made it impossible to keep working as usual.
He said the problem was not a single bad shift. Headley said he repeatedly asked managers for basic tools and raised health concerns to corporate offices before deciding to speak out. He said there were a lot of roaches there, a lot of health conditions he could not work with, and that he wanted more health inspector visitations and fixed air conditioning systems.
LongHorn Steakhouse corporate representatives said the conditions shown were unacceptable and had been addressed. The company also said it recently placed a new leader in the restaurant to make sure its strict standards are maintained.
That response leaves the central question narrower, not wider: what exactly changed inside the kitchen after the video went viral? Health department officials had not released the restaurant’s latest official inspection score, and corporate executives had not said whether any staff members or previous managers were terminated. For now, the public only knows what the video showed, what Headley says he already reported, and that the chain says the problem has been dealt with.
Headley’s decision to post the footage on Wednesday worked because the images did what complaints alone could not. They forced LongHorn Steakhouse to answer in public, and they left the restaurant under pressure to show, not just say, that the Camp Creek Parkway kitchen is different now.
