A mysterious YouTube insider says Nintendo is making a new Super Smash Bros. game for Nintendo Switch 2, not a Switch 2 edition of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. In a response to a user asking about an Ultimate port, malo932 wrote, “No, a new Smash is in the works.”
The claim is why Smash 6 is drawing fresh attention now: it points to a full sequel, not a stopgap upgrade, and it comes from the same account that has been feeding Nintendo fans for months. That makes the latest comment feel bigger than a one-off tease, especially because the account also framed a Nintendogs comeback as part of the same trail of hints.
malo932’s August YouTube comment did not name Nintendogs outright, but the wording was hard to miss. The account wrote, “Cozy weird games are strong in Nintendo, and maybe another ‘forgotten’ cozy weird Nintendo series is coming back, barking. Wink wink, woof woof.” For fans who have been waiting on both series, the message landed like a nudge that two dormant names could be on the move.
What gives the leak more weight is the account’s recent track record. Back in March, NateTheHate reported The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Remake and Star Fox Switch 2 remakes, and eagle-eyed fans later noticed that malo932 had already posted both claims days earlier. The same account was also linked to the two Nintendo Directs that took place on September 8 and 9, which it had apparently mentioned a week before they were officially announced.
That is why the reaction around the new Smash 6 talk is louder than a normal rumor cycle. Over the last six months, malo932 has seemingly leaked more than five major Nintendo titles, and some of that information appeared before NateTheHate’s reporting. Even so, the thread running through the latest comments is caution, not certainty: the claims should be taken with a major grain of salt until Nintendo makes an official announcement.
For now, the central question is not whether the account has drawn attention, but which of its hints will survive contact with an official Nintendo reveal. If the latest comment is right, Nintendo Switch 2 would be getting a brand-new Super Smash Bros. entry — and the next confirmation would have to come from Nintendo, not YouTube.
