Kylie Jenner has finally shown the home she has spent six years building in Hidden Hills, Calif., and she is already talking like someone who wants the keys in hand. In a YouTube vlog posted Sept. 6, Jenner walked viewers through the unfinished mansion, calling it her "beautiful dream Italian home" and saying she is ready for it to be done and for her to move in.
The timing matters because the tour is the clearest public look yet at a project that has stretched on for years. Jenner, 29, said she bought the five-acre property for $15 million in 2020, then kept shaping it into a Mediterranean-style retreat with reclaimed cobblestone outside, stone underfoot inside and a backyard built for dinners and birthdays. It is a house designed to feel permanent before anyone has lived in it.
Much of the appeal in the tour came from the details. Jenner showed the exterior landscaping by Jim Hyatt, saying she and the designer copied work he had done at San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara. Lavender lines the entry, along with old olive trees, and she described the look as something that would only get fuller by the time she moves in. Inside, she pointed to reclaimed wood floors, stone floors in the kitchen and an old fireplace that still needs to be installed. She also said she had to approve a plaster color for the main areas and had wanted white plaster throughout.
That unfinished state is the catch. Jenner is speaking as if a move is close, but key parts of the house are still waiting on sign-off, including the plaster and kitchen work. The contradiction gives the tour its real weight: this is not a finished mansion reveal so much as a glimpse of a long, expensive build still in motion, with Jenner balancing patience against the urge to start living in it.
She also showed a downstairs guest room with a white-and-black stone shower and matching countertop, saying she wanted traditional details in all of the stone. Outside, the backyard has an outdoor dining area under two large olive trees, a pizza oven, a fountain and a cement court for different sports. Jenner said she wanted a place to host dinner parties and birthdays, and she plans to add a rose garden as well. She even brought in baby olive trees from Kendall Jenner's nearby mansion after hearing they were being removed, saying they remind her of her sister every time she looks at them.
For Jenner, the house has clearly become more than a real-estate project. It is a custom family space tied to Stormi and Aire, and to the version of home life she seems to be building around them. The open question is not whether the house reflects her taste. It does. The question now is how much longer the final work will take before she can finally move in.
