LaTrice "Lala" Verrett went home on Big Brother tonight, leaving the game on Sept. 3 after a 4-2 live eviction vote. Rick Devens won the Block Buster first and made himself safe, while Verrett was sent out after the house split its votes.
The eviction came after Drew Campbell put Devens, Verrett and Taylor Brown on the block, with Yash Patel stepping off the nominees list before the vote. Verrett then faced a ball-pit Block Buster against Devens and Brown, where the first player to stack four spheres into plastic tubes earned safety. Devens got there first, which turned the round from a pawn test into a lifeline.
That mattered because Devens had gone into the night as a pawn, and pawns do not always survive Big Brother. Barrett Pfeiffer had been working with Devens since the first week in the Crossovers alliance, alongside Drew Campbell, Angela Murray and Dee Valladares, which helped explain why the votes settled where they did. Four players — Barrett, Dee Valladares, Devens and Patel — voted to evict Verrett, while Angela Murray and Melody voted to evict Brown.
Verrett left on the wrong side of that math, then hugged Brown on the way out and said, “Do good, OK? Do good. You got this.” The loss clears one more name from the board and keeps the alliance structure intact for another week, but the real answer now is whether Campbell can survive the next round without the security of the block.
The next Head of Household competition was set for Friday night in the backyard, with everyone but Campbell eligible to compete. That makes the next live fallout straightforward: the house has already shown it will split when the block gets crowded, and the next HoH will decide whether the same group keeps control or gets broken up before the week really begins.
