Gregory Henderson Jr. was captured three days after the FBI added him to its Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list, ending a year on the run for the 46-year-old suspect. The bureau marked his poster CAPTURED after offering a reward of up to $1 million for information leading to his arrest.
The speed of the arrest is what makes this case stand out. Henderson had evaded arrest since a federal takedown of his alleged organization in August 2023, yet he was taken into custody almost immediately after appearing on the FBI’s most wanted list on Aug. 11. For a man the FBI says had stayed ahead of investigators for months, the timing closed one chapter fast and raised the profile of the broader case around him.
The FBI says Henderson faces federal charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute controlled substances, conspiracy to launder monetary instruments and conspiracy to engage in an animal fighting venture. Agents allege he led a violent Indianapolis gang whose drug trafficking network was supplied by the Sinaloa Cartel, with methamphetamine, cocaine and fentanyl distributed throughout Indianapolis and the surrounding Midwest. Kash Patel said Henderson had been wanted for his alleged role in a major drug trafficking operation and animal fighting conspiracies as the leader of a neighborhood-based gang in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Patel also said the capture came amid a broader stretch of FBI success since President Donald Trump returned to office. Henderson was the ninth FBI Ten Most Wanted fugitive apprehended in that period, and the nine fugitives had spent more than 50 years on the run combined, according to the bureau. The FBI says that total is more than twice the four Ten Most Wanted fugitives captured during the Biden administration.
What remains unclear is where Henderson was arrested and what exactly led agents to him so quickly after his name went live. The FBI has not filled in that part of the story, but the listing, the reward and the CAPTURED label make one point plain: once he reached the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list, his time on the run did not last long.
