Disney Experiences said it will reimagine Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park, putting one of the resort’s signature lands in line for a future overhaul as part of a night packed with park news from around the world. The announcement came during the Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase at D23, with Neil Patrick Harris opening the event and setting the tone for a presentation built around what comes next.
The timing matters because D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event presented by Visa has become Disney’s clearest stage for showing fans what is being built, changed and restored across its parks. This year’s showcase, held Saturday at the Honda Center after immersive offerings at the Anaheim Convention Center, featured updates on Tropical Americas, Monstropolis, the Cars-themed area and Villains Land at Walt Disney World Resort, along with a Coco attraction and an Avengers Campus expansion at Disneyland Resort.
Disney also used the night to widen the map. It announced a Lion King-themed area in Paris, new Marvel experiences in Hong Kong and Shanghai, and a reimagined Space Mountain in Tokyo. Elsewhere, the company said the Yeti will be brought back to life in Expedition Everest, and Journey Into Imagination at EPCOT will receive a complete reimagining featuring Figment and the return of Dreamfinder. In other words, the Tomorrowland update was not a one-off tease. It was part of a global refresh that touched nearly every corner of Disney Experiences.
Thomas Mazloum said, “As we continue expanding and evolving Disney Experiences around the world, our fans remain at the heart of everything we do,” and the presentation was built to make that claim feel immediate. Harris opened the evening with a tribute to Disney Audio-Animatronics, a reminder that Disney was leaning on its own history even as it pointed to the future.
What Disney did not say was just as noticeable as what it did. The company announced a reimagining of Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park, but it did not spell out which parts of the land will change or when visitors will see the work begin. For now, that leaves the project as a promise rather than a map.
