Germany may only get a brief break before the heat returns at the weekend. From Sunday, temperatures above 30 degrees are again possible, and two weather models are now pointing to another build-up of hot air over Central Europe.
That is why people are checking New Germany forecasts now: Dr. Karsten Brandt warned that the rise begins fast, saying temperatures will climb above 30 degrees at the weekend and could reach 39 degrees from Tuesday. He said the models also show a high-pressure system moving from the Atlantic over France and Belgium, where more than 40 degrees could return.
The timing matters because the country is coming off a sharp swing in temperatures. In early June, the first half of the month sat between 20 and 25 degrees, but the second half of June brought a far harsher picture, with 41.7 degrees measured in Neißemünde, Brandenburg. The current lull therefore looks less like a change of season than a pause before the next surge.
Even so, the forecast is not fully settled. Dr. Thorsten Kaluza said only that a high-pressure influence is emerging, while Johannes Habermehl went much further, saying both the European and American models point to the Azorenhoch rebuilding over Central Europe from July 4 and 5. He said that would bring extremely hot air from the southwest again and push the 40-degree mark closer once more.
The clearest reading is that the cooler spell should not last long. The DWD says temperatures below 30 degrees should continue into next week, but the model signal points to a renewed heat dome in mid-July. Brandt’s warning is straightforward: people should prepare now, because the next hot stretch may arrive before the month has even settled into its second half.
