Live Oak High School coach Stepfan Henderson was booked over the weekend on three felony charges after investigators pursued allegations of sexual misconduct involving a female student and a teacher. The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office said Henderson was charged with two counts of indecent behavior with juveniles and one count of molestation of a juvenile.
Sheriff Jason Ard said the teacher and coach denied the allegations and denied contact with the student. But Ard said detectives were able to prove otherwise using electronic surveillance during the investigation.
The sheriff’s office said bond was set at $350,000 and Henderson posted it. The case moved quickly after school officials notified deputies about the allegations, prompting a criminal investigation that led to the weekend arrest.
The Livingston Parish Public School System said Henderson was placed on administrative leave on April 16, immediately after a report reached the school’s administrative office. District leaders then contacted the sheriff’s office and asked for an investigation.
Henderson was in his second year with the district and taught Business English and Technical Writing while also serving as an assistant football coach. His contract was set to run through the last day of the 2025-2026 school year, but the district said his employment has not been renewed.
The arrest leaves the school system facing the fallout of a case that began with a report to administrators and ended with felony charges against one of its coaches. What happens next will depend on the criminal case, but Henderson is already out of the classroom and out of the district’s plans.
