can move to the brink of the Premier League title on Tuesday if fail to win at Bournemouth. ’s side are already five points clear after beating Burnley on Monday Night Football, and City now need victory on the south coast just to keep the race alive until the final day.

The equation is simple for City. A draw is not enough, because they would still be four points behind with one game left. If they do win at Bournemouth, they must then beat Aston Villa on Sunday and hope Arsenal do not win at Crystal Palace to take the title.

That makes Tuesday one of the most loaded nights of the season. Bournemouth, City, and all have something immediate on the line, with the title race, the fight for Europe and the battle to stay up all moving at once. Arsenal, Manchester City, and Aston Villa have already confirmed their Champions League places, but Liverpool can join them if Bournemouth lose. A Bournemouth draw would also suit Liverpool, because it would leave ’s side needing a win at Nottingham Forest on Sunday while Liverpool would still need to lose to Brentford, along with a six-goal swing in goal difference.

Bournemouth can also settle their own concerns by beating City. That would move them a point behind Liverpool and guarantee at least sixth place. For Tottenham, the stakes are more basic and more brutal. A win at Chelsea would secure their Premier League status and relegate , moving Spurs five points clear of the bottom three with one game remaining. A draw would all but save them. West Ham would then need to beat Leeds on Sunday, hope Spurs lose to Everton and overturn a 13-goal swing in goal difference.

The only reason the table can bend this far is that so much remains unresolved in the background. If Aston Villa do not win the Europa League or do not finish fifth, then sixth and seventh in the Premier League will qualify for the Europa League and eighth will qualify for the Conference League. If Villa win the Europa League final on Wednesday and finish fifth in the league, the top six will qualify for the Champions League, seventh will go into the Europa League and eighth will take a Conference League place.

So Tuesday does not merely narrow the field. It can settle a title, decide whether Liverpool are in Europe’s top competition, and determine whether Tottenham or West Ham go into the final weekend with their fate already written. For Arsenal, the prize is within reach. For City, there is no margin left to waste.
