The RFEF suspended the matches scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, after the death of Jesús de Miguel. The decision halted two cup ties and a planned official presentation, all set for the same day.

The affected games were Anaitasuna against Alavés and CD Pamplona against Eibar, both tied to the first and third rounds of the Copa del Rey Mapfre and the Copa de la Reina Iberdrola. The federation also called off the official presentation in Almendralejo of the Selección sub-21 ante Japón.

The move came as an immediate gesture of respect and solidarity toward De Miguel’s family, friends and loved ones, and also toward the CD Tenerife supporter base. It was the kind of response that changes a football calendar in one stroke, because grief has a way of stopping everything else for a day.

What remains unresolved is the new schedule. The RFEF said it will inform clubs and organizers in the coming days about the updated planning for its competitions and the definitive kick-off times for the postponed matches.
