Tokyo Disneyland will open Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue on April 15, 2027, giving Wreck-It Ralph its first Disney theme park attraction. The indoor ride will replace Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters, which closed in October 2024, and put guests inside the Sugar Rush racing game with Ralph, Vanellope and their friends.

The draw is not just the date. Guests will use scanners in their ride vehicles to restore corrupted candies to their original forms, while the game score will hinge partly on how many Sugar Bugs they recover and what kinds they restore. Results will appear on onboard displays and, for a limited time, in the Tokyo Disney Resort app, with ride photos also appearing in My Photos for purchase. Henry Jackman, who composed music for the film, is also providing new music for the attraction.

That makes the search interest around the ride easy to understand: the park has put a date on a major Tomorrowland change, and it has started laying out the rest of the rollout. A smartphone mini-game begins on January 12, 2027, followed by attraction-inspired decorations and photo spots on February 18, Popping Station on March 17 and projection mapping at Cinderella Castle on March 18. Pixel Prism opens with the ride on April 15 and will sell attraction-related items, plush toys, candy and other products.

There is a catch in the same announcement that matters to families planning a visit. The ride is described as designed for children and adults, but the official page also says a free Standby Pass will be required and that Paid Disney Premier Access will be available. That leaves the ride positioned as both a broad family draw and a managed-capacity attraction, with the cost of Disney Premier Access still not disclosed.

What comes next is the part visitors can actually mark on a calendar. The mini-game on January 12 is the first public step toward the rescue mission, and it will give guests a way to rehearse the scoring system before the attraction opens. By the time April arrives, Tokyo Disneyland will not just have a new ride; it will have built a Wreck-It Ralph corner of Tomorrowland around it.
