Dakota Johnson and Machine Gun Kelly were spotted leaving a studio in Los Angeles, adding a fresh public sighting to a pairing that has stayed mostly out of view. Johnson carried a green glass water bottle and her phone as the two headed out in a low-key daytime outing.
The look was casual but polished. Johnson wore a long black leather coat over a simple black tank, straight-leg blue jeans cinched with a leather belt, a gray knit draped over her shoulders, black sunglasses, layered silver necklaces and black velvet ballet flats from The Row. Kelly kept to dark layers too, in a boxy, contrast-stitched denim jacket over a white top, loose trousers, chunky tan boots and silver jewelry of his own.
That sighting is drawing attention because the two have made relatively few public appearances together since they were first linked in September. They were photographed at Taylor Swift’s New York apartment that month, which set off dating rumors, and People later reported that their friendship had developed into something more over several months. They also both turned up at Vogue World: Milano in September, though in separate roles: Kelly walked the runway in a bright orange Byblos jumpsuit alongside Alex Consani, while Johnson watched from the front row in a plunging black Valentino dress.
Still, the new outing does not answer the question that has followed them from the start. Johnson and Kelly have never publicly confirmed the nature of their relationship, and the Los Angeles sighting leaves that unchanged even as it adds another chapter to their increasingly visible, carefully managed public trail. The one thing that is clear is that they are still willing to be seen together, just not to explain what that means.
