Tobey Maguire officiated Jennifer Meyer’s wedding to Geoffrey Ogunlesi in Hawaii on Saturday, only weeks after he and Meyer finalized their divorce on Sept. 21. The ceremony at the Four Seasons Resort Lanai brought an unusually close post-split family moment into view, with Maguire not just attending but standing at the center of the vows.
The timing is what makes the wedding draw attention now. Maguire and Meyer had separated in 2016, and their divorce was not finalized until this month, years after their breakup began to move through the legal process. Meyer and Maguire share two children, Ruby and Otis, who were both at the wedding, along with guests including Rachel Zoe, Courteney Cox, Kate Hudson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Vittoria Ceretti, Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos.
Meyer and Maguire’s relationship goes back to 2003, when they met while he was shooting Seabiscuit. They married in Hawaii in September 2007 and later separated in June 2016, with Meyer petitioning for divorce four years after the split. Maguire filed his response in July 2025, and the divorce was completed on Sept. 21, leaving the legal ending of the marriage and the wedding to Ogunlesi separated by only a short stretch of time.
That gap did not appear to change how the former couple handled family life. Meyer has said that Ruby and Otis came first after the breakup, and that she and Maguire travel together and spend holidays and birthdays together. She has also said Ogunlesi loves Maguire and Maguire loves Ogunlesi, adding that the arrangement simply works, even if it takes work to maintain.
What Meyer has described is less a clean break than a deliberate family structure built around the two children and the people in their lives. She said it was a choice to trust that things would work out, and in her telling, Maguire’s role at the wedding fit that same pattern: the marriage to Meyer ended in law, but the family connection did not.
