Marvel Studios has released new clips and images for VisionQuest, and one of them appears to show Vision in human form gripping a weapon and using it as a power source. The object looks like a glaive, the same kind of blade-tipped weapon Corvus Glaive used against Vision in Avengers: Infinity War.

That is why Paul Bettany’s character is suddenly back in the center of the conversation. VisionQuest follows Vision as he tries to find his place in the world, and the new image suggests the series may reach deep into his past while it is building toward release on Disney+.

The connection matters because Vision’s history with that weapon is loaded with consequences. In Infinity War, Corvus stabbed Vision through the chest with his glaive during Thanos’ attack on Wakanda, and Vision later used the weapon to take Corvus out. After that battle, Thanos used the Time Stone to reverse time, claim the final Infinity Stone and wipe out half of life in the universe, leaving Vision dead in the process.

Marvel is not just leaning on nostalgia here. The new material says VisionQuest will turn the clock back to 2017 and revisit the Wakanda events, which means the series is reaching for one of the MCU’s most painful pivot points and asking viewers to look at it again through Vision’s eyes. That is the kind of setup that can make a prop feel like a plot engine rather than a piece of leftover damage.

There is also a sharper wrinkle. The weapon’s importance is not just symbolic, because the series may be treating the glaive as more than a souvenir from a battle long past. The new image leaves room for the possibility that Corvus is back in some form, or that part of him is still tied to the weapon itself. In the comics, Corvus is said to be more or less immortal as long as his glaive stays in one piece, which makes the object in Vision’s hand look less like a memory and more like a live thread.

That is the part that gives VisionQuest its bite. If the glaive is still carrying something of Corvus, then Vision is not only confronting his own history; he may also be forced into another encounter with the force that once tore him open. The show is said to bring in Tommy Maximoff and put Vision against threats like Paladin and Ultron, but this image suggests the past may be the most dangerous thing in the room. The next confirmed step is the series itself, and the question now is whether Marvel Studios is teasing Corvus Glaive’s return, or only using the weapon to reopen the wound he left behind.
