Star Meat Delivery Inc. has recalled about 167,639 pounds of raw pork, beef and goat products after federal officials said the meat was produced without inspection and carried a false USDA mark. The recall, announced Tuesday, covers products that were vacuum-sealed, packed into cardboard boxes and shipped under the A&D Foods label.
That scale matters because the products were sent to retail and restaurant locations across the country, leaving open the possibility that some may still be in homes, food-service kitchens or back rooms. The company is based in Lucama, North Carolina, and the recall covers 23 product types, including goat cuts, ribeye slices, beef oxtail, beef short ribs, beef feet, shanks, menudo mix, pork chorizo, pork chops, pork feet, pork ribs, ground pork and several kinds of pork Boston cuts.
FSIS classified the recall as Class I, its most serious category, after routine surveillance uncovered the problem. Officials said the false establishment number was EST. 1363, which does not match any federally granted inspection establishment, and they warned that any product bearing that number should be treated as misbranded and unsafe to eat. The products were made on various dates before September 22, 2026.
There is a sharp edge to the recall: FSIS said there have been no confirmed reports of illness or injury linked to the products. Even so, the agency said meat that bypasses the federal inspection process can carry undeclared allergens, dangerous pathogens or other substances that put consumers at risk. The absence of reported harm does not reduce the seriousness of the inspection failure, only the list of known consequences so far.
Consumers who bought the meat were told to throw it away immediately or return it to the store where it was purchased. Food-service operators and retailers were told to pull the products from shelves and kitchens and stop offering them to customers. Because grocery stores often place their own labels over original packaging, shoppers may not see the A&D Foods brand name even if they have one of the recalled items.
