UFC 334 now has its top two title fights. The card will be held Nov. 14 at Madison Square Garden in New York, with Ciryl Gane meeting Josh Hokit in the main event and Kayla Harrison defending against Amanda Nunes in the co-main event.
The announcement landed during Saturday’s UFC 331 broadcast, giving the promotion a clear marquee for one of its biggest nights of the year. Gane, listed at 14-2 with one no contest, was presented as the newly promoted undisputed heavyweight champion after Tom Aspinall vacated the belt because of ongoing eye issues tied to injuries he suffered in his no-contest against Gane in October.
For Hokit, the title shot comes fast. He is 10-0 and has gone 4-0 in the UFC since being signed off the Contender Series in 2025, a run that includes three wins in six months. That pace made him one of the few fresh names available to anchor a heavyweight championship bout, even if the choice still turns heads inside the division.
The same card gives Harrison her first defense after she won the bantamweight belt with a second-round submission over Julianna Peña at UFC 316. Harrison, 19-1, and Nunes, 23-5, were first expected to meet at UFC 324 in January, but Harrison pulled out of that fight after neck surgery. Nunes returns after stepping away from competition in 2023, carrying the kind of record that once made her one of the division’s defining champions.
There is still a wrinkle at the top of the heavyweight picture. White had said Gane would not be moved from interim to undisputed status without fighting again, yet the live broadcast and the official graphic still listed him as the undisputed heavyweight champion. That leaves the title change with a paper trail that moved faster than the public explanation behind it.
Hokit’s rise has been stranger still. He has stacked four UFC wins since signing in 2025, but a title shot at 10-0 suggests the division is being built around urgency as much as merit. UFC 334 is scheduled to settle that on Nov. 14, and for Gane and Hokit, the championship is now on the line whether the path to get there made perfect sense or not.
