Zachary Defazio has filed a sworn declaration in Broward County, Florida, adding a second accuser’s account to the legal fight involving Scott Thompson, better known as Carrot Top. In the filing, Defazio says he is the man behind a civil claim tied to Thompson and attaches alleged text messages, photographs and a June 2025 settlement demand that put the dispute in a new light.
Defazio said he first met Carrot Top in March 2021, when he was 19, after contact through Grindr. He said the exchange began with an anonymous torso photo and later moved to an in-person meeting at a bar in Winter Park, Florida, before he says Thompson gave him alcohol despite his age. By October 2021, Defazio says he was too intoxicated to consent to sexual activity during one encounter, and he declared in the filing, “I am a victim of Scott ‘Carrot Top’ Thompson.”
The timing matters because the declaration does more than repeat an accusation. It places Defazio beside Brian Evans in the same legal dispute and shows how the claims were being built long before the filing reached court. Defazio said he contacted Evans only after the case appeared on the public docket and that he personally supplied Evans with legal correspondence and claim documents, making him part witness and part participant in the broader fight.
The exhibits attached to the case include a demand letter prepared by Defazio’s former lawyers at NeJame Law, who said they had text messages, photographs, videos and other digital communications supporting his account. The letter also includes screenshots of alleged exchanges between Defazio and a phone number identified in the filing as belonging to Carrot Top, with messages reading “Craving your c-,” “Come over and c– on me after,” and a reply attributed to Thompson: “We can do both.”
That is where the story gets harder to read cleanly. Defazio is saying he was victimized, yet the same filing says his former lawyers offered to settle the claims confidentially for $7.5 million, including legal fees, in return for confidentiality, non-disparagement and a waiver of future claims. The letter said the figure reflected roughly one year of Thompson’s alleged income and about 10 percent of his estimated net worth, while also putting possible trial damages at at least $15 million.
What remains unanswered is the simplest question that matters most to the case: how much of this can be independently verified. The filing presents the alleged texts, photographs and a phone number tied to Thompson, but it does not explain in the record how that number was confirmed. For now, the sworn declaration deepens the record against Carrot Top, but it also leaves the next legal test to whether those exhibits hold up when the claims are challenged in Broward County.
