IGN has published a new Dodongo Cavern walkthrough for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake, and it goes straight to the part players need most: how to push through the dungeon and keep moving toward the Spiritual Stone of Fire. The guide opens with Link re-entering Dodongo Cavern and using a Bomb Flower from above to open the true entrance, a small but important step that sets the pace for the rest of the run.

That matters now because the remake is being framed as fully remade after 28 years, which is exactly the kind of moment that sends players searching for a clean route through an old dungeon with new wrinkles. The guide is aimed at people who want more than nostalgia; it gives them the route through Dodongo Cavern on the slopes of Death Mountain and shows where the path branches, where the Bomb Flowers matter, and where the dungeon starts asking for precision instead of guesswork.

The first room already makes its intentions plain. A large plaque reads, “May this colossal and long-dead Dodongo serve as a guide to the hidden path,” and the rest of the dungeon follows that clue with a series of small locked doors and hidden rewards. A Bomb Flower can clear the cracked wall on the far end to reveal the true entrance, a Beamos waits on the large central platform, and another Bomb Flower can destroy it. From there, bombing the southern alcove yields a Treasure Chest with a Blue Rupee, while bombing the northern alcove opens a Treasure Chest with the Dungeon Map. On the east side, bombing the northern alcove reveals a Sheikah Stone, and bombing the southern alcove opens a new doorway leading out.

The guide also makes clear that the remake is not just repeating the old route without change. Much of Ocarina of Time remains the same, but the dungeon still holds plenty of new differences to uncover while exploring Hyrule, and that is where the walkthrough does its real work: it keeps the player moving while the surroundings shift under familiar feet. After the east-side doorway, Baby Dodongos fill the hallway, skittering forward, lunging at Link, and exploding after a short moment even when slashed. A high alcove in that hallway is still out of reach, which means the route is not finished when the player first reaches it.

That is the point of the guide. It does not pretend every answer is available at once. It gives players the sequence that gets them through Dodongo Cavern now, while leaving one high alcove and the broader set of remake changes to be picked up later. For anyone following The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake coverage, the next move is already set: keep pushing through the dungeon, then come back when the path that is out of reach becomes available.
