Wyandotte police found a woman dead inside a home on the 800 block of 6th Street early Sunday after responding to a reported shooting. Officers were sent to the address around 3:15 a.m. and found evidence that a shooting had occurred.
The Wyandotte Fire Department pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Later Sunday, police said they had identified and located a homicide suspect, and the department said that person is no longer a threat to the public.
The case now turns on what happened inside that home before officers arrived. Police have not said what led to the shooting, how the people involved were connected or what sparked the violence, even as the search for answers has moved from an immediate response into a homicide investigation.
