Katy Perry says her life changed on tour after the Katy Perry Orlando Bloom Split, and she now says Justin Trudeau is the person she met when things began to shift. In a new interview, Perry said her Lifetimes Tour helped carry her through a brutal stretch and led her to what she called the “love of my life.”
The timing matters because Perry is speaking just as The Lifetimes Tour – Live from Paris arrives in cinemas, giving fans a fresh look at the era that followed her breakup. She said she credits the tour with helping her find a new sense of self and step back into her purpose, while also linking it directly to Trudeau, who she said has come to several of her concerts.
Perry said last year was really hard. She said she was in Australia when the breakup news came out last July and was crying and feeling far away. Perry and Orlando Bloom had been together for nine years before the split was announced, and she said she would not have stayed that long if there were not important things to learn. Each relationship, she said, is a teacher.
That is the friction inside her latest comments: the same period she describes as painful is also the one she says brought her the biggest gift. Perry said she made a list of what she wanted to manifest, including true love, and had been talking to her therapist about wanting epic, legendary love. She said she got a lot of flak for the tour but did it anyway, and that the response from Trudeau has been deeply reassuring.
Perry said Trudeau knows the words, is supportive and is in awe, adding that it has been “super healing.” She also said she got to meet him on tour and then things shifted, while noting that they were first spotted together later that month. What remains unanswered is how quickly that connection became serious; what Perry has made clear is that the tour did more than fill arenas. It changed the course of her personal life.
The Lifetimes Tour kicked off in April 2025 and marked Perry’s first official run in seven years. The concert film, directed by Paul Dugdale and built from shows at the Accor Arena in Paris on Nov. 4 and Nov. 5, 2025, captures a 25-song set filmed with 60 cameras as Perry flew around on a butterfly and sang classics like “California Gurls” and “Firework.”
