Tim Curry Los Feliz Home Sale Draws Contingent Offer After Death News

Tim Curry’s restored Los Feliz home moved under contingent offer just hours after news of his death was announced, turning a routine listing update into a closely watched sale. The Los Angeles property had still been on the market when the announcement broke, then its records were updated to show contingent status.

That timing is why the Tim Curry Los Feliz Home Sale is drawing attention now. The house was listed in July 2025 for just under $10 million, then cut to $7.5 million on Aug. 6 before the contingent offer appeared. It was listed with Ben Belack of Serhant.

Curry bought the property for $650,000 in 1993 and spent years restoring it before later showing the transformation in Architectural Digest. The house itself carries a long Hollywood history: it first appeared in Architectural Digest in August 1924, two years after completion, and returned in 1998 with coverage of Curry’s restoration. The listing described a four-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom spread with exposed wood-beam ceilings, hand-painted surfaces, stained-glass windows, iridescent copper and vintage tile.

That history helps explain why the house drew attention even before the latest update. Curry had said the design was inspired by a trip to Ireland, and he described the Guinness family estate as “the most beautiful and comfortable house I’d ever been to,” pointing to the kind of layered detail he tried to bring into the Los Feliz property. He sold the home for $2.6 million in 2001, and records now show the house under contingent offer without disclosing the amount.

The unresolved question is not whether the house found interest; it clearly did. It is whether the buyer will move fast enough to close on a property whose value was already being reset, and whose latest turn came only after the public learned Curry had died.
