Fluminense returns to the Maracanã on Saturday at 16h30 to face Remo in the 24th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, with Marcão taking charge and a place in the top group on the line. The match will be shown live and exclusively on Premiere, while ge will follow every moment in real time with videos.

The timing matters because Fluminense is fourth with 38 points and can cut the gap to the lead to seven points if it wins, a small but meaningful step in the race to stay in the G-4. Remo arrives in 18th place with 23 points, and a victory would be enough to move it above teams ahead of it and out of the Z-4.

Marcão has had to prepare for the game without Guga and Lucho Acosta, both suspended after their third yellow card. That leaves Fluminense with a side that is still carrying injuries and absences, including John Kennedy, Igor Rabello, Riquelme and Matheus Reis, even after the boost of beating Palmeiras and moving past Ind. Rivadavia into the quarterfinals of the Conmebol Libertadores.

On the field, Samuel Xavier is expected to start at right back, with Fluminense likely lined up with Fábio, Samuel Xavier, Thiago Silva, Ignácio, Renê or Arana, Martinelli, Hércules, Ganso, Canobbio, Soteldo and Hulk. Remo, meanwhile, should have Marllon back in the starting team after serving a suspension, while Marlon is set to keep his place after his debut.

Remo also travels with its own absences, as Mayk remains out injured alongside Edson Fernando, Eduardo Melo and Tico. Its probable lineup points to Marcelo Rangel, Marcelinho, Marllon, Tchamba, Marlon, Zé Welison, Picco, Zé Ricardo, Pikachu or Galeano, Jajá and Taliari, a group that has just come through draws with Atlético-MG and Internacional.

The officiating team is led by João Vitor Gobi, with Alex Ang Ribeiro and Evandro de Melo Lima as assistants, Matheus De Moraes Silva as fourth referee and Emerson de Almeida Ferreira on VAR. For Fluminense, the calculation is simple: win and keep climbing. For Remo, the reward is more immediate still, because three points could pull it out of the drop zone before the weekend is over.
