PlayStation has given the first look at a new Marvel’s Wolverine hardware push for PS5, led by the PS5 Digital Edition – Marvel’s Wolverine Battle Yellow Limited Edition Bundle. The set pairs a PS5 Digital Edition with a matching DualSense wireless controller and a game code for Marvel’s Wolverine, turning the game’s claws-and-adamantium look into a console shelf display.
The timing matters because the reveal follows new details shared last month at San Diego Comic-Con for Marvel’s Wolverine, and it turns the conversation from software to hardware. The bundle will be available globally, while the DualSense Wireless Controller – Marvel’s Wolverine Battle Yellow Limited Edition will also be sold separately around the world. PlayStation said the console design channels Logan’s intensity through a bold yellow finish and exposed claw marks, while the controller adds furious slashes inspired by Wolverine’s famous claws.
PlayStation said the hardware was shaped with Insomniac’s Battle Reborn suit and claws in mind, and it worked alongside Jock on the design. Jock contributed key art for Marvel’s Wolverine and said he wanted to show Wolverine at his fiercest for the limited-edition PS5 bundle and accessories. He also said he still draws all his artwork traditionally, which made the mix of hand-drawn ink and new hardware especially appealing to him.
The broader hardware line does not stop at the bundle. Players who already own a PS5 model group slim or PS5 Pro console will be able to buy PS5 and PS5 Pro Console Covers – Marvel’s Wolverine Battle Yellow Limited Edition where is available, and PlayStation said those covers will also show up in limited quantities through select retailers outside those regions. The covers come for both disc-drive and digital versions, which makes the design available to more owners, even if not everywhere at the same scale.
PlayStation also revealed the PS5 Pro Console Covers – Marvel’s Wolverine Adamantium Limited Edition, built around Logan’s adamantium skeleton and claws and finished in a premium metallic look. A matching DualSense Wireless Controller – Marvel’s Wolverine Adamantium Limited Edition will be sold separately. The result is a tidy split between items that will be widely available and items that will be harder to find, which is likely to be the point for collectors even as PlayStation has not said when any of the bundle, covers or controllers will actually go on sale.
