Palworld 1.0 is due to arrive on July 10, and Pocketpair has narrowed the target to around 12.30pm Japan time. John “Bucky” Buckley, who posted the update in Discord, said that was only an estimate, but it is the clearest launch window yet for players waiting to see when the game leaves Early Access.
If that timing holds, the rollout would land at 8.30pm PT on July 9, 11.30pm ET on July 9 and 4.30am UK time on July 10. That is why players are looking at the clock now: the launch is not just a date on a calendar, but a moving target that changes depending on where they are and when they plan to jump in.
Buckley also dealt with the question many existing players were asking before the update arrives. He said they do not need to wipe their data and can keep their current saves if they want to, which means no one is being forced into a fresh start. But he added that a new character would give the best experience because the update brings a large number of changes, including overhauls to mechanics and new content.
That advice creates the same split Pocketpair seems willing to live with: preserve your progress, or begin again to see the game as it was meant to land on 1.0. Buckley said the choice is up to Palworld Players, and he teased 27 pages of changes and additions in the patch notes, a scale that suggests this is more than a routine tune-up.
Palworld launched in early 2024 on Steam and on Game Pass on Xbox and PC, then later reached PS5, but it has remained in Early Access while Pocketpair kept building toward this release. The game also arrived with comparisons between its Pals and Pokémon, and that history still hangs over every major step forward.
The unanswered question is not whether Palworld 1.0 is coming; it is how much of the game will feel different once it does. Pocketpair has already signaled that the biggest changes are substantial enough to make a new run worthwhile, and the patch notes should show whether that advice is a matter of convenience or the only real way to experience the update as intended.
