Tomodachi Life Update 1.0.3 Adds Bug Fixes and Local Play Change

Nintendo has issued version 1.0.3 for Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, and the update is mostly about bug fixes. The patch also changes how local play works for some players: Mii characters or other creations cannot be sent if the island name or player name contains numbers or text that falls under display restrictions.

That makes this Tomodachi Life Update the one people are searching for now, because it is the current change on Nintendo Switch and it affects a specific part of the game that players may use without thinking twice. If a save includes a name with restricted characters, the usual sharing path through local play is no longer available for those creations.

Nintendo has already put out other patches for Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, and version 1.0.3 follows that pattern. Even so, the public note attached to this update gives only one clear functional change, while the rest is described broadly as bug fixes.

That leaves the important detail in plain view: the update is framed as routine maintenance, but it changes behavior for a narrow group of saves in a way that can block sharing. For everyone else, the patch appears to be a cleanup pass, and Nintendo has not confirmed any further update or deadline beyond this release.
