Dua Lipa married actor Callum Turner in a low-key ceremony at Old Marylebone Town Hall in London on Sunday, ending more than two years together with a wedding that was quiet in style but major in profile. The pop star left the building holding a small posy of pastel-coloured flowers, while Turner walked beside her in a dark blue suit.
The pair were married after Lipa, 30, and Turner, 36, announced their engagement last year. She later told British Vogue that the ring had been made for her after Turner consulted her best friends and her sister, a detail that made the engagement feel personal even before the wedding became public.
Lipa wore a white skirt suit, a wide-brimmed hat, matching white gloves and high heels for the ceremony. A small group of family and friends threw confetti as the couple walked down the stairs of the building hand-in-hand, keeping the scene intimate even with two celebrities whose lives are usually followed on a much larger stage.
That contrast is part of what makes the wedding stand out now. Lipa headlined Glastonbury in 2024 and Turner is known for appearing in the Fantastic Beasts films, while Old Marylebone Town Hall has long been a favored registry office for famous names, from Sir Paul McCartney and Linda Eastman in 1969 to Ringo Starr, Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas, and Liam Gallagher on two separate occasions.
The venue’s list of weddings underscores how often major public figures have chosen a low-profile setting for a very public moment. McCartney later married Nancy Shevell there in 2011, while Gallagher’s 1997 marriage to Patsy Kensit and 2008 wedding to Nicole Appleton also passed through the same doors.
For Lipa and Turner, the marriage appears to be only the first part of a longer celebration. The couple reportedly plan to throw a three-day party in Sicily at the end of next week, though the question now is not where they married but how much of the rest of the celebration they will choose to share.
