Several Team Trump TikTok videos that once used Taylor Swift songs have been edited so the audio is gone. The change leaves the posts visible but silent, including an Aug. 3 clip that originally paired Taylor Swift's 2020 song "August" with footage of President Donald Trump and Melania Trump watching fireworks.
That Aug. 3 video had not been subtle about the joke it was making. Its caption read, "I’m sure @Taylor Swift is going to be super excited we used her song! #taylorswift #maga #august," and the clip now has no sound. A separate Aug. 6 video that said Swift wrote her fourth studio album "Red" about Republicans has also been stripped of audio, while a November montage that used "Father Figure" from her "Life of a Showgirl" track list has been left silent as well.
The removals matter because they affected more than one post, not just one stray edit. They also land in a fight that has been building for months: Swift backed Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of the 2024 presidential election, then Trump posted that he hated her on TruthSocial and later said she was no longer HOT. By August 2025, he was striking a softer note when asked about her engagement to Travis Kelce, but the videos on Team Trump TikTok tell a different story.
There is also a sharper edge to the new silence. Team Trump kept using Swift's songs after Trump publicly turned on her, and the posts did not hide the point. One asked, "Did you know Taylor Swift wrote a whole album about the color of the Republican Party?" and another displayed artwork imitating the "Red" cover with Trump in a red MAGA hat. The audio is gone now, but the decision to use the songs in the first place still sits there, untouched.
The question left unanswered is simple: why were the songs removed at all? The videos no longer play music, and the account has not explained whether the edits were made because of objections, copyright pressure or something else. What is clear is that the White House and Team Trump pages have leaned into music from artists who did not endorse the administration, and Swift is only the latest name to show how quickly that can turn into a public dispute.
