Laredo Kid says he wants the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championships defended on WWE TV after winning the belts with La Hiedra at AAA Verano de Escándalo. The new champions took the titles from Lola Vice and Mr. Iguana, and Kid is already pushing for the next defense to land on WWE television.
That request comes after Kid spoke in a new interview with SOTO619, where he also looked back on his match with Trick Williams at Saturday Night’s Main Event in July. He said he did not believe he would be called for that match, adding that the chance to wrestle in a major setting left him feeling “very, very good and proud” of himself.
Kid said the title win matters even more because it followed a stretch in which he believed he had earned more chances by working hard across the business. He tied that run of opportunities to the recent months of his career and said the championship change came only a couple months after his AAA World Cruiserweight Title reign ended, giving his current run extra weight.
For now, the open question is not whether Kid wants a defense, but whether WWE will actually book one. He said he has already been asking fans on his social media pages who they want to see him and La Hiedra face, and he made clear that NXT, Raw or SmackDown would all work for him. That is ambition, not confirmation, and the gap between the two is where the story sits today.
Kid also said Trick Williams would be a good opponent if the road ever leads back to WWE TV, calling the idea “cool” and saying it would make for a good match. Until a defense is announced, though, the champions are left with momentum, a fresh title change and a platform that could grow the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championships well beyond one win at AAA Verano de Escándalo.
