is recalling 59,887 Prologue and ZDX vehicles in the U.S. because some 2024 and 2025 models may show a blank or distorted image on the rearview camera display. The automaker said in a letter sent Wednesday to the that dealers will replace the rearview camera at no cost.

The recall covers 44,199 Honda Prologue vehicles and 14,688 Acura ZDX vehicles, according to the company. Honda estimates only 5% of the recalled vehicles actually have the defect, but it is still moving ahead with the fix under recall numbers DO5 and DO6 and NHTSA campaign number 26V306. Owners are expected to get notification letters by mail on July 6, 2026.

The Prologue and ZDX were both built on GM’s Ultium platform, and Honda has already shifted away from the electric crossover that carried the Acura badge. The company pulled the ZDX and abandoned plans for the upcoming 0 Series models and the Acura RSX, while it continues to sell the 2026 Prologue, which Honda says is not included in this recall.

The timing matters because the Prologue’s momentum has faded. Sales are down more than 55% so far this year, even after the model was introduced in March 2024 and briefly became a stronger player in the U.S. EV market. In the second half of 2024, the Prologue was the third best-selling electric vehicle in the country behind the Tesla Model Y and Model 3. By 2025, it had slipped to sixth place.

Honda fixed the issue in the latest 2026 Prologue, which is now on sale, but the recall shows how quickly a software or camera failure can ripple through two closely related electric vehicles. For owners of the affected 2024 and 2025 models, the practical question is not whether the warning screen comes on every time, but whether the dealer visit arrives before the camera problem does.
