Jaclyn Cordeiro says she and Alex Rodriguez have split after more than three years together, ending a relationship that had been public since December 2022.
Cordeiro told TMZ on Thursday that she and Rodriguez are “currently taking some time apart,” but said there is “mutual love, care, and deep respect” between them and their families. She added that there is “absolutely no animosity, drama, or negative story” behind the breakup.
She said she is “navigating a serious health matter involving a family member” and that her focus is on that situation for now. Cordeiro also asked for privacy and said she and Rodriguez remain “very close,” while requesting that any reporting reflect the compassion the moment deserves.
A source close to Rodriguez said the couple broke up about two months before Cordeiro made the split public, and said there is still “nothing but mutual respect” between them. Rodriguez, a Yankees legend and the 2009 World Series champion, first connected publicly with Cordeiro in 2022, then went public with the relationship in December 2022 when he posted a photo of the pair alongside his daughters Natasha and Ella.
The breakup lands just as Rodriguez and his ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis appeared together on Wednesday at Ella’s high school graduation, where the family posed for photos with Scurtis, her husband Angel Nicolas and their daughter Camilla. Rodriguez marked the occasion with a congratulatory post, writing that he could not believe Ella was all grown up and saying he was proud of her and excited to see what she accomplishes at UNC. The latest chapter suggests the family ties around Rodriguez’s daughters remain intact even as his relationship with Cordeiro comes to an end.
