John Summit is taking his first-ever arena tour on the road this fall, launching a 20-show North American run built around his latest album, CTRL ESCAPE. The CTRL ESCAPE Arena Tour begins Oct. 1 in Champaign, Illinois, and closes Dec. 4 in Oakland, California.
The tour marks a new phase for Summit, who said the project reflects “a kind of a crazy, artistic journey” tied to his move away from “the corporate life” and his drive to push boundaries in electronic music. He added that he pours his soul into it because he loves it so much.
Summit released CTRL ESCAPE on April 15, and the arena trek comes after a packed stretch that includes his Ibiza residency debut this summer and festival headlining sets at Lollapalooza, Tomorrowland and Experts Only. The tour will bring him to major rooms in Chicago, Miami, Brooklyn and Boston, with the opening night at State Farm Center and the final show at Oakland Arena.
What makes the run stand out is not just the scale, but the way Summit is packaging it. The tour will use a new production concept designed to create a larger-than-life atmosphere and an immersive experience, a step up from the club settings where most DJs still spend their careers. The move puts him alongside a small group of electronic acts that have already shifted into arena and stadium touring, including Illenium, The Chainsmokers, Tiësto and Kaskade.
Tickets will move quickly through a tight on-sale window. Artist presale begins May 27 at 10 a.m. local time and runs through May 28 at 8 a.m. local time, before the general sale opens May 29 at 10 a.m. local time. For fans, that means the first chance to buy into Summit’s biggest live run so far arrives this week, well before the first show lands in October.
The significance of the tour is clear: Summit is no longer testing whether his music can fill bigger rooms. He is already moving into that lane, and this fall will show whether his club-built following can carry all the way through the arena circuit.
